Youth United Volunteer Opportunity – Leading by Example

United Way of Greater Chattanooga 630 Market Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States

United Way of Greater Chattanooga is piloting a new initiative called Youth United! In this initiative we will be working with three schools, Brainerd High, Hixson High, and CSLA throughout the 2024/2025 school year. Youth United will focus on the education and development of leadership skills for students through personal growth, leadership, and community engagement! Youth United MLK Day Project: Each Youth United volunteering event holds a specific theme. For this upcoming event, in recognition of MLK Day, our theme will be leading by example. We will begin the event with hearing from a United Way board member on what has inspired them through their life to be a good leader. We will then move into the educational activity in which we will ask the students to discuss what people, places, and things in their life inspire them. Next, the students will work together to build art supply kits for one of nonprofit partners, Splash!
