POSITION SUMMARY

The TOR (Tennessee Office for Refugees) Case Manager is responsible for the enrollment of Bridge clients in the Refugee Support Services (RSS) program and relevant sub-programs. This includes determining eligibility for the program; submitting required information in an accurate and timely manner to program funders; providing case management support for emergency needs, benefits, and other basic needs; and following-up with enrolled clients to determine continued eligibility.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Determine client eligibility for the Refugee Support Services (RSS) program and enroll all eligible clients into the Tennessee Office for Refugees (TOR) database
  • Assist clients to develop Self-Sufficiency and Employment Plans to identify and accomplish their goals for the duration of the program
  • Assist clients with job development and job placement so that they can reach self-sufficiency as soon as possible
  • Assist clients with completing public benefits applications as needed and maintain communication with the Department of Human Services (DHS), healthcare facilities, and other service providers to ensure that clients receive benefits they are eligible for
  • Connect clients with the services available in the community to further their self-sufficiency and integration
  • Maintain clients’ files with detailed case notes and financial documentation in compliance with program requirements
  • Maintain regular communication with clients during the program
  • Perform other related duties and activities as requested by the supervisor

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, International Studies, or a related field.
  • Fluency in the English language, knowledge of Arabic, Spanish, Russian or Ukrainian is a plus
  • Cross-cultural experience and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Passion for serving and empowering refugees
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established guidelines and procedures
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
