Empower survivors and champion change in our community! Join our team at Partnership to provide advocacy during critical moments and lead efforts to combat domestic violence in Chattanooga. As the FJC Domestic Violence Liaison, you will facilitate seamless collaboration between Partnership’s Family Violence Services and the Chattanooga Family Justice Center. This full-time position is eligible for all company standard benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (i.e. psychology, sociology, etc.)
1 yr. of experience in social work or human services field
Able to empathize and build rapport with clients and their families
Able to perform conflict resolution or crisis intervention
Able to establish and maintain professional relationships within and outside the agency
Basic understanding of trauma and how to work with vulnerable populations
Able to work flexible hours
Essential Job Duties:
Adheres to the trauma-informed care practice approach and other applicable evidence-based models in service delivery.
Responds to callers in crisis by answering the Family Violence/Sexual Assault and LAP Hotlines, completes a phone assessment of the caller’s need, and provides them with information and referral, crisis counseling, safety planning and any additional information requested by caller.
Responds to DV related walk-ins and callers referred to by the Partnership and the FJC, providing a face-to-face assessment of the person’s need and then making the appropriate referral for PFCA service and/or provide case management as needed.
Provides follow-up services for clients referred to services through the LAP.
Provides Court Advocacy for assigned DV clients and assists in completing victim compensation application when applicable.
Monitors client behavior and maintains awareness of client’s emotional and physical needs. Is responsible for creating a safe, supportive, therapeutic environment for clients.
Maintains a positive, collaborative relationship with the FJC and all partners and addresses any issues with supervisor.
Participates in the VSS on-call rotation, to provide back-up coverage during after-hours shifts if needed or respond to questions from after-hours staff who respond to Hotline calls.
Performs other duties related to this position as determined necessary.
